The Holocaust Center of the North Shore Jewish Federation commemorates Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day) with a program held at Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, Peabody, Massachusetts. Welcome by Rabbi Samuel S. Kenner, Greetings by Dr. Bertil Wolf and Peabody Maor Peter Torigian, Survivors’ Candlelighting Ceremony, a Yom HaShoah Poem by Sonia Schreiber Weitz, Interfaith Service (Cantor Sam Pessaroff, Temple Ner Tamid; Peabody Father Jim Nyan, Bishop Fenwick H.S., Peabody; Reverend Randy Wilkinson, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Salem; Rabbi Samuel Zaitchik, Ahabat Sholom, Lynn), keynote lecture-concert “remembrance and Hope” by Rosalie Gerut and Friends, Holocaust Center Service Award presented by Harriet Tarnor Wacks, closing with singing of the “Star Spangled Banner” and “Hatikvah.”
