Abstract
SV060 — Nelson Dionne Collection. View looking down Essex Street, to the east, from Washington Street at Town House Square. The First Church building, before its c. 1874 renovation, is visible directly to the right. Published by G.K. Proctor at 206 Essex Street, Salem, Mass., c. 1870. Owing to the height of the shot, the view appears to have been taken from the top floor of the three-story building, present before replacement by the Price Building (1875-1969), at the southwest corner of Essex and Washington St. where Lappin Park is now. View is the same as SV069, also published by G.K. Proctor, and SV061, published by Charles A. Beckford.
