Abstract
Virtual reality is here, and with every year that passes technology aids in enhancing visual interactions, creating new levels of engagement in the form of augmented reality, virtual gamification, and simulation design. However, are the advances in virtual reality helping to enhance nursing education and is nursing education ready for such technological advancements? This integrative review evaluates the pros and cons of virtual reality and the various studies performed by institutions and researchers to decipher the role of virtual reality in nursing education.
