Abstract
This study examined the implications of nursing student attrition, risk factors for course failure, and proposed utilization of a faculty desktop tool to identify students in need of support to remain academically successful. The Student Academic Success Survey (SASS) tool, developed by the researchers, was used at a local regional state university with 103 students. The SAS tool was not linked with student GPA, however, its utility as an early attrition marker needs further development.
